Britta Merwin is was our favorite meteorologist for our very own News Channel 12!

Britta Update - June 2010:

Britta has left News Channel 12 to join the KCRA 3 News team in Sacremento, California. Since we haven't seen Britta on the air for a while I was beginning to think that she had moved on... and our worst fears were confirmed when we saw the post from her new station.

We'll miss you Britta, good luck in California!

Britta's Bio:

Born in San Antonio, TX into an Air Force family, Britta lived in England before ending up in Colorado where she grew up in the town of Littleton located just southwest of Denver.

After her local meteorologist visited her elementary school she decided to be a meteorologist at the age of eight. Attending Stony Brook University, Britta graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences-Meteorology with Cum Laude honors. She was also the captain of the Stony Brook University Cheerleading Squad and was very involved with community services.

With internship experience at WCBS-TV in New York and KMGH in Denver, Britta landed a key position at NBC Weather Plus and could be seen filling in on CNBC & MSNBC. When NBC bought The Weather Channel and decided to kill off Weather Plus, Britta and fellow hot meteorologist Samantha Davies along with just about everyone else were out of jobs.....

But NBC loss, was our gain here in New Jersey, as long as you have Cablevision! Britta has been with New Channel 12 since 2009, and we look for many more great things for Britta!

Britta's NBC bio mentioned she enjoys dancing, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
