- With conference expansion Armageddon running ramped throughout the country these days, nearly every school in America is left wondering where it will end up.  From a New Jersey standpoint, our only major football program is Rutgers University, thus making the Scarlet Knights our main concern.  Rutgers currently plays in all sports in the Big East Conference, which has eight football members (including RU) and eight more non-football members.

Wednesday 6.9.2010 - NJ Sports - Nets Get New Coach & Nebraska Rock Big 10, RU Next?
- A day after Steven Strasburg (no NJ connection) lights up the sports world, two major bits of news that will have lasting effects on the New Jersey Sports Scene for years to come. The New Jersey Nets are about to announce that they will name Avery Johnson, the NBA all time leading in coaching winning percentage as their new coach. He is a great choice and well liked by players and fans league wide. His addition should unlike the door along with new owner Mikhail Prokhorov's billions some of the best free agents in this years free agent class.

- The second major "unofficially" announced sports news of the day is that the University of Nebraska will be leaving the Big 12 to join the Big 10. While many might have no idea why this has anything to do with New Jersey, those of you in the know... know that this is the first domino to fall in major conference realignment. In the end Rutgers will likely join with Nebraska, Missouri, Notre Dame and either Pittsburgh or Syracuse in the new Mega-Big 10 (16) for 2112 or 2113. Look for an upcoming major blog on the future of all the conferences, we think we got it all figured out.

- So you think you got what it takes to take your place as a cast member on "Jersey Shore"? Well MTV is looking for perspective cast to join our controversial show. The open call for potential new members will be held this Sunday from 11am to 8pm in the Ballroom and Harrah's Atlantic City.

- Keeping with the tradition of having a New Jersey Icon opening new facilities at the Meadowlands, Bruce Springsteen opened what is now the Izod Arena. With the first of three sold out shows, Jon, Richie, Rico, David & Hugh rocked the new stadium for two and half hours.

Wednesday 5.26.2010 - TMZ Reports: 7-10 Cops to Protect "Jersey Shore" This Summer!
- According to TMZ, MTV is looking to have no bad situations in Seaside Heights this summer, just "The Situation". MTV is planning on using 7-10 police officers and private security to keep control over the ridiculously popular Jersey Shore cast as they return to New Jersey to film the final parts of season 2. Wednesday 5.26.2010 - Renovation of MSG to Begin Soon, Phases to be Done By 2113.
- Now that plans for a complete new Madison Square Garden have been scrap. MSG has announced renovations for the existing complex. The plan is to be move the New York Liberty out of MSG for the next 3 years and to do the renovation in phases between Rangers/Knicks season.

- First ever cold weather outdoors Superbowl is coming to the Garden State in 2014. Full Story coming later today. It's a big week all around for the new Meadowlands stadium, as Bon Jovi will play host to the first ever concerts this week as well.

Tuesday 5.25.2010 - Can We Not Take Credit For This Guy? Seriously?
- A 21-year-old New Jersey man pleaded guilty Tuesday to vomiting on another spectator and his 11-year-old daughter in the stands during a Philadelphia Phillies game. Matthew Clemmens, of Cherry Hill, NJ, pleaded guilty to one count each of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for his conduct during an April 14th Phillies-Nationals game at Citizens Bank Park.

Monday 5.24.2010 - Memorial Day Weekend is Almost Here. Weather calling for Mid-70s!
- Ok it's the Monday before the official start of the Jersey Shore season, but we are happy to announce (as of right now) the weather forecast for the upcoming holiday weekend is looking very nice! Friday is calling for highs around 82, while the rest of the long weekend is calling for sunny and highs from 72-75 degrees. Let keep our fingers cross and get ready for our pilgrimage down the Garden State Parkway for another great summer!

- Despite winding down the 2009-10 NBA season with the 2nd worst record ever, our lovable losers, could catch at break in tonight's NBA Draft Lottery. Despite having the best odds of winning the lottery and landing defacto #1 pick John Wall, we ended up getting the 3rd overall pick. Our buddies the 76ers landed the #2 pick and Washington ended up getting the #1 overall pick.
