Both Spring and the full launch of NJMAX.com are getting closer. We've been working steadily through the winter little-by-little in the ongoing work in progress to get the site full ready. Right now we look like a pretty easy to navigate list of lists of places to go and things to do in New Jersey, but we plan on being a little more than that once we fully launch!

WRITERS & BLOGGERS - we're looking for you! We know a lot of you out there are dying to see your name in print and we want to be the place where you can find your voice. If you are interested in being a writer on NJMAX. Drop us and email at : info@njmax.com or send us a message on MySpace and we will give you more information.

Thursday 5.1.2008 - Props to the Fedway Liquor Show at The Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City
- If you have never had the opportunity to attend a Liquor Show, you don't know what your missing. We took the day off from computers and gladly accepted our invitation to the annual AC Show. In case you don't know, Fedway is one of the two big liquor distributors in NJ - these are the guys who make sure all the wine and liquor we love so much shows up at all our favorite bars, clubs and restaurants. We want to pass thanks along to the entire staff of Fedway, the show was excellent as always. All the major players were there - Captain Morgan, Jack, Jager, and on and on. Great displays and samples and one gorgeous model after another. We also want to pass along props to a few brands that took the time to have in depth conversation with NJMAX about working on possible future projects - Bulldog Gin, Jagermester, Zyr Vodka, Liquor 43, Svedka Vodka, Three Olive Vodka, Tommy Bahama Rum, Dooley's, Ty-Ku, Zodiac Vodka, Charity Wines, Pinky Vodka and Voyant. I know we are missing some people, so we apologize if we skipped anyone. These shows are not open to the public like the Atlantic City Beer Festival, so getting invited is a little more difficult, but if you can ever get an invite, we highly suggest you don't miss it.

Tuesday 4.29.2008 - Picture of Ashley Dupre, and By The Way, She's Suing GGW for $10 Million
- We were asked buy quite a few people to post the pictures of our recently infamous Jersey Girl. We know you can find them if you look around the net, but we are here for you our readers, so we set up an archive just for you. Coincidentally, she picked today to announce that see is suing Girls Gone Wild for $10 Million dollars over tricking her into posing for them when she was 17. We hear at NJMAX wish Ashley well, but we're not sure if taking on GGW is where she should have started, especially with Million plus offers on the table from Penthouse, Hustler and Vivid. - PHOTO GALLERY

Saturday 4.26.2008 - NFL Draft Today - Jets Pick 6th, Eagles 19th, Giants 31st & Ray Rice Ends Up?
- NFL Draft 2008 is here and as always there are lots of questions regarding our favorite local teams, both college and pro. All three Jersey-ish teams have first round picks. Will the Giants trade Jeremy Shockey? Will the Eagles move Lito Sheppard? Will McFadden drop to the Jets, and what if he doesn't? Where will Rutgers stud running back Ray Rice end up playing as a pro? Which of his teammates will get drafted - Jeremy Zuttah, Eric Foster, Ron Girault? Stay tuned, should be a fun weekend for NJ's NFL fans.

SATURDAY UPDATE - The Jets with the 6th take the best available player with Ohio State's Vernon Gholston. Next up is Audubon High School alumni - via the Delaware Blue Hen - Joe Flacco being picked by the Ravens at 18. The Eagles, not liking what on the board trade down with Carolina, while the Jet trade up with the Packers to draft Purdue TE Dustin Keller with the 30th pick. The Giants first pick helps sure up the secondary with Miami safety Kenny Phillips, then in a non-move, didn't trade Jeremy Shockey to the Saints for their 2nd round pick. The Eagles after trading down twice finally picked Notre Dame DT Trevor Laws, then picked up WR/KR DeSean Jackson out of Cal. Ray Rice's new home will be with the Baltimore Ravens, as they draft their second player with New Jersey connections. The Giants closed out the day taking USC Cornerback Terrell Thomas - making it two picks in the secondary. Draft continues on Sunday with lots of local interest left. - 8:57 pm

SUNDAY UPDATE - It was a quite draft for New Jersey residents as only Rutgers Jeremy Zuttah, who is from Edison and an alumni of JP Stevens HS, went in the third round to Tampa Bay, 83rd overall; Montclair's Alvin Bowen (Iowa St) went in the 5th round to Buffalo and Orange's Cory Boyd (South Carolina) went in the 7th round to Tampa. The Giants had 5 picks on Sunday, most recognizable being WR Mario Manningham (Michigan) and QB Andre Woodson (Kentucky). The Jets only pick four times, with Tennessee QB Erik Ainge being the most well known. The Eagles were very busy having traded down a few times on day one, had 8 draft picks that were spent building up depth on the offensive line and defense.

Tuesday 4.22.2008 - PNC Bans Tailgating At 5 Summer 2008 Show - More To Follow?
- Citing a need to control the consumption of alcohol, especially amongst underage drinkers, LiveNation has banned tailgating at five summer 2008 shows. Tailgating will not be permitted at concerts by John Mayer, OAR, 311, Beatstock and a day-long rock festival tagged Projekt Revolution. This years bans seems to stem from the events of last years Ozzfest when 2 died and 83 were arrested, there will be no Ozzfest tour this year. More concerts my be added to the no tailgating list as the summer schedule rounds out. - MORE

Saturday 1.4.2008 - Rutgers & Ray Rice have a "BALL" in International Bowl - 52-30
Ray Rice ran over Ball State and through the 2,000-yard barrier, giving Rutgers its second postseason win in the school's 138-year history. The victory capped an up and down season for our beloved Scarlet Knights, but is a sweet way to end the season no matter what. If Ray Rice does run off to the NFL (depending on the website you look at he is projects as a late 1st round - early to mid 2nd round pick) he definitely put an exclamation point our one of the greatest careers in Rutgers history.

We've come a long way in a short time and this year is just part of the progression toward bigger and better thing for RU. As for the Giants, we really like the way you played against the Pats last week, now if we see the same intensity this weekend, we will be looking forward to watching you next week - actually we are expecting to see you play next week.
