Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg's internet hype has made them seem like the second coming of Babe Ruth, Paul Bunyen and Sid Finch all rolled into two players. 2.5.2011 - Madoff Situation Doesn't Look Good for Wilpons and the Mets...

If you are a sports fan, even a passing sports fan, you know that the Mets are some how involved in the Bernie Madoff financial fiasco. But you likely don't know what it really means. The fact that they came out last week and went public with a plan to sell 25% of the team, has to throw up some red flags that things might be a bit worse then they are letting on. The GM Sandy Alderson announces that payroll plans going forward are to pull back on spending significantly... red flag number two. The net result is that the Wilpons and therefore the Mets have some serious issues.
